VFW Commander Glen Gardner just returned from Washington, D.C., where he met with President Obama, testified before the joint Committee on Veterans Affairs, and met with various senators and congressmen. Gardner, relaying the concerns of veterans, played a large part in squashing the recent and controversial VA collection proposal that would charge veterans for service-related care. We sit down with him for an in-depth, 2-part discussion on his agenda for this visit to the Capitol, and his take on this new administration.
